Dr. Carla Case McCorvey, DVM

Owner and Veterinarian

Dr. Case McCorvey is the 4th generation in the Case family to practice veterinary medicine in the 112-year-old Savannah vet hospital. She graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Her husband David is a Certified Public Accountant here in Savannah. They are the proud parents of two children, a girl and a boy as well as Coffee and Kit Kat (cats) and a yellow Labrador Retriever named Grace.

Dr. Jerry L. Case, DVM

Previous Owner/Veterinarian/Retired

Dr. Case is a third-generation Veterinarian in Savannah. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1975 and then returned to his hometown to practice. He served as President of the Georgia Veterinary Association in 1996 and is very active in the community as well. Dr. and Mrs. Case have been married since 1968 and have two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Matt Wiley and Carla and David McCorvey. Grandchildren include three grandsons, Cameron and Grant Wiley, Carson McCorvey, and one granddaughter, Amelia McCorvey. Although not actively seeing clients at this time, Dr. Case is behind the scenes in the administrative and management portion of the hospital as well as a mentor to our veterinarians. Dr. and Mrs. Case enjoy their beloved Jack Russel Terrier named Pearl.

Dr. Amanda Coleman, DVM

About Dr. Coleman

Dr. Amanda Coleman is a 2018 graduate of Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. A Georgia native, she is a huge UGA fan and lives for football season. Dr. Coleman loves being near the coast and knew Savannah would be the perfect fit. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her two “fur babies”, Munson (dog) and Daphne (cat), as well as playing tennis and running. Her interests within veterinary medicine include preventative medicine and outreach, dentistry, and oncology.

Dr. Katie Nowland, DVM

Veterinarian

About Dr. Nowland

Dr. Katie Nowland is a 2015 graduate of Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. After graduating from veterinary school, she moved to Savannah with her family to pursue a career in emergency veterinary medicine. Dr. Nowland gave birth to her beautiful baby girl in 2017. When not practicing veterinary medicine, she loves to spend time with family, cook, read, and watch her daughter grow. She has three dogs and two cats, including a Great Dane and a chihuahua! Her interests in veterinary medicine include internal medicine, emergency/critical care, and dentistry.

Morgan Chayes, DVM

About Dr. Chayes
Dr. Morgan Chayes was born and raised in New Jersey. She is a graduate of Clemson University and obtained her veterinary degree from Oklahoma State University in 2020. Dr. Chayes enjoys building relationships with her clients and focuses on education and preventative medicine to promote the lifelong health of their pets. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Chayes enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors, especially hiking with her dogs, kayaking, and going to the beach.

Alexis Burkes, RVT

About Alexis
Alexis’ career journey has truly brought her full circle. In 2013 she graduated from Armstrong Atlantic State University where she received her undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Health Science. In 2015 Alexis graduated from Tri County Technical College with an Associate degree in Veterinary Technology, becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. She spent the next 5 years working in various animal hospitals specializing in emergency and critical care, surgery, and exotics. Alexis also taught in the Veterinary Technology Program at Gwinnett Technical College and Ogeechee Technical College.

In 2020 she relocated back to Savannah, Georgia and is currently in pursuit of her Master’s degree in Higher Education with a specialty in Leadership and Administration and will graduate in December of 2022 with honors. This year Alexis was inducted into The Sigma Alpha Pi National Society of Leadership and Success as a Presidential Scholar.

In her free time Alexis likes to travel, try new restaurants, hang out with friends, and snuggle her rescue Chihuahua Kenny!

Beth Massey

Administrative Manager
About Beth

Arriving at Case in 2011, Beth was certainly not new to the veterinary industry. With over 20 years of experience in the veterinary field, she has had a diversity of training in emergency medicine and corporate veterinary practice management. Beth has a particular interest in feline medicine as well as providing excellent customer service. She and her husband, Dustin, enjoy traveling and their pets. Their menagerie includes her Morgan horse (Maverick), cat (Jacob), and her French Bulldogs (Arnie and Ruby). True to her upbringing in Kentucky, she has been riding, training, and showing horses since she was a child.

Felipe

Groomer/Animal Care Supervisor

About Felipe

Felipe moved to Savannah in 2017 after Hurricane Maria hit the island of Puerto Rico. He comes to Case Veterinary Hospital with ten years of experience in the grooming industry. Early on in his career, Felipe worked as a kennel technician for a grooming and boarding facility and was drawn quickly into grooming. Felipe has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business data analytics. In 2011, Felipe established his own grooming salon in Puerto Rico, which was in business until September 2017. Felipe, his wife, and two kids enjoy riding bicycles, going to the movies, traveling, and cooking fabulous dishes influenced by Caribbean cuisine. He loves giving extraordinary styles to the pets he receives and enjoys seeing the smiles and joy of owners when they see their pet’s transformation.

About Kenny

Kenny is our Head Technician, and he has been with Case since June 1978. His previous experience IS Case! Kenny is invaluable to our practice, becoming a licensed technician in 2004! In 2010, Kenny was named Georgia’s Technician of the Year. He has been married for 30 years and has two married daughters and a granddaughter. His hobbies include fishing, camping, and hunting.

Mary

Client Liaison/Study Coordinator

About Mary

Mary has been with Case Veterinary Hospital since April 2001. Before that, she retired from a standard office environment. In her own words, “I’m now doing what I’ve always loved and wanted to do – care for and love animals.” In past years, she bred and raised beagles. At one time, she had 40 of them (all family members)! Mary now gets her “animal fix” at work. She has scaled back her animals at home to a Dachshund and a cat.

About Krystal
I have been working in the animal field for over 8 years but I have had a passion for them my whole life!

When I’m not loving on your fur children I enjoy being outside on the water and spending time with my dog Ryder, family, and friends!

Tiffany

Technician/Inventory Supervisor

About Tiffany

Tiffany joined us with more than ten years of experience in the veterinary field. When asked what she enjoys about her job, she replied, “I love being able to help pets, especially when they are sick. I love caring about them when they feel awful; knowing I am making a difference in their life is important to me.” When not at Case, Tiffany enjoys jewelry making and gardening. She has one dog, a german shorthaired pointer named Seamus.

About Kaali

Kaali came to us in 2014 and has been a technician since 2016. She is trained to perform Oncura Ultrasounds and Echocardiograms here at Case. Kaali has a special place in her heart for extra-large/giant breed dogs, and she shares three dogs with her husband and young son. She loves traveling, crafts, spending time with her family outdoors and on the water. Kaali loves football too! When asked why she likes to work with animals, Kaali responded, “I think animals can teach us a lot. I have always been around them and rescue those that I can”.

About Danielle

Danielle joined the Case team in 2021. She is married to Jeremy and has one child, Althea, and five fur babies; Goblin, Moosh, Koma, Cara, and Finn. Danielle loves all things outdoors, like hiking, kayaking, bike riding, and running. She has been working with animals since 2000.

Stephanie was born and raised in California. Her hobbies include watching baseball (GO DODGERS!), watching Netflix with my husband and dog, and eating good food. She believes her job is the best. It is very fulfilling as she gets to hang out with animals all day while also caring for them. Stephanie’s primary focus is creating bonds with the pets she gets to meet. They have filled her heart in so many ways.

About Shawna
Shawna grew up in Maine, went to college in Boston, worked in the ICU at a specialty veterinary hospital in Minnesota, and then ultimately moved to GA about 4 years ago. She has 2 cats (Ripley and Olive) and 2 dogs (Jax and Rosie). Shawna enjoys the beach and loves to remodel/decorate. In her free time, she enjoys going on day trips/adventures with her husband and their son.

Client Service Team Lead/Representative

About Liz

Though she was born in Michigan, Liz was raised in New Jersey with her five siblings. She grew up riding, caring for and showing horses. She worked as an assistant manager of the barn throughout high school and continued to follow her passion for horses through college at the University of Delaware, where she was an active member of the equestrian team.

Liz originally moved to the Lowcountry in 2016 with her parents but relocated from Bluffton to Savannah when she married her husband, Matt. They now share their home with a hound mutt, Benji, a pit bull, Mila, and two cats, Phillip and Vino.
Liz joined the team at Case in 2019. When asked what she loves most about her job, Liz’s response is “Providing a warm welcome and a smiling face to all of the pets and their owners when they walk through our clinic doors.”

Liz enjoys cooking, watching true crime televsion, and going to the beach with her dogs when she is not at work!

Aerial

About Aerial

Having grown up in the Savannah area, Aerial has been a member of the Case team since January 2020. She is currently enrolled in school and studying for a degree in surgical technology. She has a special love for “the long dogs,” also known as dachshunds. She has two doxies of her own, Remi & Maya Rose. Aerial enjoys days off work with her fiancé, Eric, acrylic painting, spending time with family, hanging out with her pup, and traveling to new places in her free time. One thing Aerial loves about her job is getting to see all the new puppies and kittens that come in with their excited new owners.

Anita came to us in 2021 and has been working in the veterinary field since 2017. Anita has a lot of love for Weimaraners and Basset hounds, and she shares one dog and two cats with her husband and four children. She loves traveling, going to sporting events, spending time with her family, and going to the beach. What Anita loves most about her job, is interacting with clients and their adorable fur babies!

I joined Case Veterinary Hospital in 2014 and I love it here! I enjoy getting to know our clients and their babies and providing the best care possible for both. I have learned so much since joining the Case Family and want to share, educate and help wherever needed. I am from Cleveland, OH, and am a diehard Cleveland sports fan. I have recently discovered that I love gardening and like to spend my free time working with animal rescue and transportation. I have three dogs Timber, Bailey, and May.

She was motivated and excited to become a part of the Case family to learn more about animal care. On her days off, Amanda enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her animals.
